Open Dance Project

ODP2 is Open Dance Project’s pre-professional dance ensemble in residence at Hunter Dance Center in the Heights. ODP2 dancers have the opportunity to work and train in contemporary dance techniques as they work with professional guest artists and choreographers to build a full length contemporary story ballet from the ground up in the Fall and Winter and to develop their own choreography or perform in their peers choreography for ODP2’s Young Choreographers Project in the Spring. Dancers must be in Level 3 or above at Hunter Dance Center with strong technique to audition. Dancers must be able to commit to rigorous technical training and repertory classes at Hunter Dance Center, must make themselves available for all technical and dress rehearsals required for the Spring performance, and be committed to working as a team to build a positive, nurturing, and creative ensemble experience. Dancers must also be available for additional rehearsals called periodically throughout the year and all of tech week and performances before their Spring performance.

Auditions are held annually at the completion of the ODP Pre-Professional Summer Intensive in August.

Dancers interested in an auditioning for ODP2 are strongly encouraged to be a part of ODP2 Summer Immersive Dance Company held in August.
