The most important work ODP does is facilitating empowering connections between one human being and another.

This year has been filled with unprecedented challenges for all of us. We’ve learned about the strength and resilience of our artists, the dedication and loyalty of our board members and donors, and the deep appreciation and need for our education and performance programming in this city. This fall we launched “Project Pivot: A Reimagining of ODP’s Educational Performances and Workshops for the Virtual Space” to meet our educational partners’ explicit requests for online and virtual arts programming that foregrounds social emotional learning in this time of sustained community trauma.

We are committed to providing this service to our school partners in their time of need – and have, in fact, already presented Project Pivot workshops to 125 PK – 12 dance and theater teachers from HISD and KIPP Houston, Dallas, and Austin. These teachers will also have streaming access to recordings of ODP’s Wonderful Wizard of Oz and ENGINuity accompanied by arts integration brain-break activities.  With your help, we will be able to make Project Pivot available to HISD’s full roster of 280 schools.

Please help us ensure that all youth have access to the arts and that performance continues to thrive in our city by donating generously to this year’s annual appeal.

Open Dance Project launches Scholarship fund

Open Dance Project believes every child deserves a chance to dance. In an effort to break down economic barriers intensified by COVID-19, Open Dance Project announces the establishment of the ODP Scholarship Program. These scholarships support beginning through advanced level studio training at our primary residency site, Hunter Dance Center. Through this need-based scholarship program, we come together as a community to support our students through economic challenges. Join us today in our fundraising efforts to provide equal opportunity to dance for every child!

Help us raise funds to keep all of our youth dancing this fall

Thanks so much for your support!
